Luston Primary is committed to meeting the requirements of the new primary curriculum from September 2014. We have updated our schemes of work to reflect the content and challenge of the new curriculum. All teachers have received training in the key areas of curriculum change and we are ready to provide outstanding curriculum provision. The curriculum will be taught with the consideration of the needs of all learners. Our curriculum will be exciting and engaging and will inspire children to nurture a passion for learning.

The Curriculum includes:

Core Subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • English
  • Science

Foundation Subjects:

  • Art and design
  • Computing
  • Design and technology
  • Foreign languages
  • Geography
  • History
  • Music
  • Physical education
  • Religious education

Luston Primary will continue to use the National Curriculum levels and average point scores to assess our children during 2014-15. In addition, the school will explore and develop an efficient method of assessing pupils’ progress towards the end of Key Stage expectations. Information regarding progress of all children will be communicated to parents at least annually.
